We’re hiring: Communications Executive (maternity cover)

We're looking for a Communications Exec to join our team.

We are a creative in-house marketing and comms team for a large architectural practice and are looking for someone to join us on an 18-month temporary contract to help provide maternity leave cover.

As Communications Executive, you’ll be working closely with colleagues across our studios to proactively seek out, identify and produce stories and high-quality content that engage our audiences and help build our brand. Alongside managing pro-active comms, you'll handle media enquiries, and support senior leaders in the business with their media and social presence.

Ideally, you’ll have around three years’ experience in a communications role, gained in an agency or in-house. Knowledge and experience of working within the built environment sector are advantageous. You will have excellent organisational skills, be a natural storyteller, and have the ability to tailor your message to different audiences with ease.

The successful candidate will work predominantly from our Manchester studio with the marketing team, with opportunities to spend some time working from our Leeds studio and from home. You must have a permit to work in the UK to apply for this role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement communications plans which deliver against Business Plan and Marketing Plan objectives.

• Lead on internal and external communications and PR, and promote understanding internally of communications strategies.

• Act as Buttress’ media liaison.

• Pro-actively produce content for media consumption.

• Develop talking points for internal and external speaking engagements for senior staff.

• Help staff to understand and get the most from their communication channels.

• Actively seek out content from staff to enable a regular release of news items.

• Create short and long-form digital content to be shared across Buttress’ channels.

• Ensure any content produced adheres to Buttress’, purpose, values, and brand.

• Help monitor engagement and report on the performance of our social media, digital, and communication channels.

• Instigate and manage internal and external commissions in support of communications objectives.

• Support the organisation of marketing events, leading on associated external communications.

• Support the preparation of bids as required.

• Support other marketing activities as required.

• Assist in the development, management, and monitoring of core value propositions as required.

• To be self-motivated and use initiative.
