We are delighted that Elmswood Park has been shortlisted in the best older people’s housing development (rural and suburban) category at this year’s Inside Housing Development Award.
Delivered for Rowlinsons Construction and Moss Care St Vincent’s, Elmswood Park is a 72-unit apartment retirement living scheme forming part of The Depot, a major residential development on Princess Parkway, Manchester.
Planned around a private communal courtyard, the scheme offers a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments for rent, each designed to offer the best independent living experience.
Within the scheme, private spaces are complemented by communal facilities such as residents’ lounges and a day activity centre, to help encourage the creation of a new residential community.
The development has also been developed with facilities to benefit the wider community as part of an integrated approach to the neighbourhood. This includes, a café bar and bistro, hairdressing and beauty salon, laundry, and launderette.
The wider Depot development provides 54 two and three-storey family homes and 204 one-to-three-bedroom apartments. A HAPPI housing scheme has also been planned for the site and will provide 40 one- and two-bedroom apartments aimed at the over 55s.
The Inside Housing Development Awards offer an opportunity to celebrate the very best residential developments across the UK from the past two years. The winners of this year’s awards will be announced on 4 November.
