The ultimate goal of these efforts is to transform Morecambe Winter Gardens into a 1,600-capacity music venue within the next three years, securing its place as a vibrant hub for the arts and community engagement and performance.

We were appointed by the Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust. We have conducted the feasibility study, provided heritage consultancy, and supported the trust's successful funding application.

"This marks an important moment in the Winter Gardens' history. The volunteers of Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust have worked tirelessly over many years, ensuring that Morecambe Winter Gardens has a future. This is an amazing recognition for their efforts, and we are very proud to have played a role in this latest success."

Place Capital Group project director Eleanor Binns said, “This significant achievement is testament to the dedication of the commitment of the volunteers and Trust in ensuring the Winter Gardens remain a vibrant, active asset in Morecambe’s community and economy. It has been and continues to be a pleasure and honour to be part of this amazing project.”

Over the past three years, Morecambe Winter Gardens has also benefited from £1.6 million in funding from Historic England, Theatres Trust, the Architectural Heritage Fund, the University of Sheffield, Lancaster City Council, Morecambe Town Council, Lancashire County Council, and over 500 individual donors.

Plans have been submitted for the next phase of restoration works at the Grade II* listed Morecambe Winter Gardens. This milestone follows the recent award of £2.7 million from The Cultural Development Fund, which is a Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) fund administered by Arts Council England.

The funding will support several critical upgrades and enhancements to the historic concert hall, ensuring its future as a major cultural venue in the area. Key projects include the construction of a two-storey extension featuring new toilets, accessible lifts and a fire escape. Additionally, the building’s outdated electrical system will be completely rewired, with the installation of state-of-the-art AV and lighting equipment.
