The Depot, a major new intergenerational development on the fringe of Manchester city centre, has been shortlisted for Best Regeneration Project (over 100 homes) and Best Development (urban outside London) at this year’s Inside Housing Development Awards.

Designed for Rowlinson, the vision for the scheme was to respond to a growing need for a diversity in housing by creating a development for all.

More than 300 new homes have been created on the six-acre site, ranging from rented apartments to three- and four-bedroom family houses.

Also provided within the scheme are later living housing options including extra care housing and apartments for the over 55s, designed in line with HAPPI principles.

The Best Regeneration Project (over 100 homes) recognises projects that has turned a place around, created more homes and enhanced the wider area for all. The Best Development award celebrates development that meet the UK’s housing needs and creates a desirable environment for people to live and play. The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a ceremony.
