Greenhaus has been shortlisted for three prestigious awards at this year’s Inside Housing Development Awards.
The categories include Best Development, Best Healthy Homes Development, and Best Affordable Housing Development, underscoring Greenhaus's role as a trailblazer in sustainable and affordable housing.
Delivered for ECF – a joint venture between Homes England, Legal & General, and Muse – alongside Salix Homes, and supported by Salford City Council, Greenhaus, is the largest Passivhaus Classic Certified development in the North West.
Built to the Passivhaus Classic certified standard, the nine-storey development offers homes with high thermal comfort and improved air quality. This leading low-energy design standard not only lowers bills but also ensures a healthier living environment for its residents.
Greenhaus bridges a significant gap in the housing sector by offering affordable, high-specification living. Residents of Greenhaus can expect their monthly heating and hot water costs to be less than half of those in a similarly sized new-build home with a gas boiler. This achievement not only provides financial relief but also contributes to a greener future.
"Being shortlisted for these awards is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the project. Greenhaus is an example of what can be achieved when sustainability and affordability are at the heart of housing development."
- Alison Haigh, Associate
Following the success of Greenhaus, work is currently underway on Willohaus, a second Passivhaus development on nearby Peru Street, which will bring an additional 100 affordable and highly sustainable apartments to the area.
The winners of this year’s Inside Housing Development Awards will be announced on Friday 27 September at Royal Lancaster, London.
