This next stage of Adelphi Village will deliver 151 homes across two five- and six-storey buildings, situated across from the 185 apartments approved as part of Farmer Norton Phase 2.

The plans also include a further 112 affordable Passivhaus apartments mirroring those nearing completion at Willohaus.  Buttress is delivering all planned homes, with Farmer Norton Phase 2 being designed by dRMM which Buttress will now take on through the construction phase (RIBA Stage 4).

Adelphi Village is the main residential area of the £2.5bn, 240-acre Crescent Salford masterplan being delivered by Salford City Council, the University of Salford and ECF – a partnership between Homes England, L&G and nationwide placemaker Muse.

Benefiting from the first wave of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s (GMCA) £1bn Good Growth Fund, Adelphi Village has been awarded £23.4m for 336 new homes, most for social and affordable rent.

The new homes will be set within a thoughtfully designed landscape, incorporating tree planting, green spaces and dedicated outdoor areas to support residents’ wellbeing. Secure cycle parking will further encourage active, sustainable travel. Landscape architects Re-form are collaborating with Buttress to shape a cohesive, high-quality environment that integrates architecture and landscape from the outset.

Martin Kirkpatrick, Buttress director said:

"We are excited to be supporting Muse in this development and to be involved in the on-going success of this project. Buttress continues to build and deliver on the high quality Passivhaus homes for the people of Salford.”

Steve Thomas, senior development manager at ECF, said:

“With Willohaus set to complete this summer and work beginning on Farmer Norton, approval for the next stage of homes in Adelphi Village is a positive step as momentum builds across the Crescent Salford masterplan. These apartments, and the wider Adelphi Village, will not just deliver much-needed, high-quality homes but also create a new, sustainable, inclusive neighbourhood for the people of Salford.”

Adelphi Village is just one aspect of the Crescent Salford masterplan, which will deliver more than 3,000 new homes, state-of-the-art facilities, enhanced green spaces and improved infrastructure to create a vibrant place for people to live, work, study and thrive.
