We are happy to announce two new and well-deserved promotions in our Manchester office for Edward Kepczyk and Ben Tabiner.

Edward Kepczyk (pictured above left) is now promoted to director level.
He joined the Studio in 2018 as a Senior Architect, initially supporting the restoration of Wythenshawe Hall. His passion for faith-based projects has helped the Studio strengthen, develop, and expand its connections within this sector. Edward promotes the Studio’s expertise through his active involvement in several Diocesan Advisory Committees, the National Churches Trust Grants Committee, and the Church of England Demonstrator Project Technical Panel.
Beyond his architectural work, Edward has played a pivotal role in advancing wellbeing initiatives within the Studio. He was instrumental in establishing B:Well, a dedicated forum designed to help ensure Buttress remains an inclusive and supportive place for all.
Ben Tabiner (pictured above right) is also promoted to director level.
He joined Buttress in February 2012 as a newly qualified architect, he initially worked in the Education team where, mentored by Chris Whelan, he delivered our Sports Centre at Prior Park College in Bath and several projects for Wycliffe College. Ben also acted as a Technical Advisor to the Department for Education supporting their Priority Schools Building Programme.
Having focused predominantly on housing and regeneration in recent years, some of his key projects include the delivery phases of our Brunswick regeneration scheme, the ongoing regeneration of the Grey Mare Lane Estate in East Manchester and Rodney Street in Ancoats for This City.
Committed to the delivery of low-carbon affordable homes, Ben’s current work includes various projects for Salford City Council including 274 mixed tenure homes in Ordsall, and a series of projects providing much-needed ‘move on’ homes for rough sleepers and those at risk of homelessness.
Ben is also leading the team on a 25 storey co-living development for re:shape.
