Buttress has jumped 15 places to be listed 78th in this year's AJ100, cementing the studio's position as one of the largest architectural practices in the country.

Produced annually by the Architects’ Journal, the AJ100 is the definitive list of the UK’s top 100 practices, based on the number of qualified architects employed.

Managing Director, Gavin Sorby, said: “We are delighted by this year's AJ100 result. The past 12 months have been unprecedented time for our industry. Despite this, the entire studio has worked hard to adapt to the challenges it has presented, and I'm fortunate to work alongside such a talented and resilient group of people.

"It is a testament to them that over the last year, 88% of our income has been secured from existing clients, recommendation or referral. This strong base, along with a number of significant project wins for the practice, has enabled us to attract new talent and grow as a business.

"I would like to congratulate everyone on the result and thank the team for their consistent hard work in creating high-quality designs that shape communities and enhance lives."
