The Job
Buttress is looking for an Architect to work with our Arts, Culture and Heritage team on a wide range of conservation projects. Someone who believes in the positive development of our built heritage; keeping and adding to what makes a building special by responding to it with creativity and a sound understanding of the past.
You will be between 3 - 5 years qualified with an aspiration to become an accredited Conservation Architect. You will have a passion for all aspects of historic building work including ecclesiastical projects, and be equally as happy to consider and contribute to the conservation philosophy as you are to design and deliver practical fabric repair.
A proactive collaborator, you will work across the Buttress studio, applying your knowledge of sustainable conservation best practices and improvements in technology, legislation, and improved efficiencies to support effective delivery.
We use a range of professional software in the studio, and excellent skills in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD are essential, as well as strong capability in the use of Adobe software.
Based in either our Manchester or Leeds studios, you will have the opportunity to engage with and support our culture, benefitting from opportunities to develop and grow, taking on more responsibility, and becoming a seasoned architect.
