The first phase of a major new residential scheme that will deliver nearly 300 new homes has reached completion, while planning permission has been granted for the creation of 40 later living apartments within the scheme.
Designed for Rowlinsons, the first phase of The Depot scheme has involved the creation of four apartment blocks that each provide 23 new homes to rent with a mix of one and two bedroom apartments.
Alongside the completed apartments, the scheme will deliver 72 extra care homes, and 54 three and four-bedroom family houses which will be offered as a mixture of shared ownership and outright sale options. Work on the extra care building and the family homes is due to complete this summer.
The 40 later in living apartments have been designed to the principles of Housing our Ageing Population Panel for Innovation (HAPPI) and includes a mix of 1 and 2 bed apartments aimed at over-55’s. The scheme includes vehicle and cycle parking, and a secure residents’ garden, along with a rooftop terrace garden.
