Life-saving equipment installed in our Ancoats studio

We are proud to have installed a life-saving defibrillator in our studio.

The equipment has been securely installed in the studio’s reception and will be available to members of the community during office hours (8.15 – 5.15). It is accompanied by step-by-step spoken instructions which are built into the unit and explain how to use it on someone in an emergency.

The defibrillator has been registered with The Circuit – the national defibrillator network – which connects defibrillators to NHS ambulance services across the UK so that in those crucial moments after a cardiac arrest, they can be accessed quickly to help save lives.

Studio Manager, Grace Avery, said: “Having been part of the Ancoats community for over a decade, we are pleased that we can offer this facility for the benefit of residents.

“Out of hospital cardiac arrests is one of the top causes of death in the UK. The timely intervention of CPR and defibrillation, however, can improve the survival rate from less than 3% to as much as 75%.”
