The first phases of Buttress’ £113m regeneration scheme at Brunswick are nearing completion, with residents due to move in in a few weeks’ time.
Phase A of the scheme, comprising 5 of the first 2 bedroom DFA 2-compliant new build homes (pictured, top) has now been completed, with all properties sold and residents expected to move in from 1st July onwards.
Lockton Court (pictured, bottom), Lamport Court and Silkin Court, adjacent to Mancunian Way are also taking shape; the three 8-storey high rise blocks have been redeveloped and overclad to provide new winter gardens and new internal refurbishment for each apartment. This is due for completion at the beginning of July.
The scheme at Brunswick balances new build and refurbishment, and when completed will provide over 500 new homes, refurbish 860 existing homes and provide new community facilities, an extra care unit and retail space. Masterplanning of the estate has brought the community’s interests to the forefront of the design, bringing a new layer of infrastructure to the heart of Brunswick, including open parkland, allotments, an orchard and play areas easily accessed by a new pedestrian-friendly green boulevard through the neighbourhood.
