This week marks the start of our new virtual work experience project in collaboration with schools and colleges across Greater Manchester.
The programme aims to help those looking to find out more about art, design and architecture gain valuable experience beyond the classroom, without the need to travel into the office.
Participants are partnered with a member of the Buttress team who will provide advice and support during the week-long programme. On each day, students are set a series of design tasks and are able to work on them autonomously throughout the day, spending as much or as little time on the project as required by their school.
The daily design tasks are based around a central idea of designing a new ‘space for thought’ for their school in Manchester. Each task adds an element to the design development process, culminating in a scale model of their space, and aims to replicate how projects are designed in the real-world.
The programme is open to secondary school students across the region. For more information, contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
