Last night saw success for three of our projects in the Manchester Society of Architects Design Awards.
Our project at St Botolph’s Boston, creating café, retail and office space as contemporary individual structures within the church, was commended in the community category. In the conservation and reuse category we had a double win as the category was split to reflect the expertise and varying skills of both. Our restoration of St Anns in Manchester won the conservation award; and the conversion of St Peter’s Ancoats, to create rehearsal space for the Hallé Orchestra, won the reuse award. St Peter’s was designed by Andy Avery whilst at MBLA and is an example of the wider and complementary design skills and expertise in the practice since our merger.
