Last Thursday a seven strong team of lycra-clad cyclists from Buttress, Baker Mallet, EC Harris and ASK Developments embarked on an ambitious 90 mile, 7000 feet ascent cycle ride.
Beginning in Ramsbottom, the group headed for Hebden Bridge where they refuelled with mojito flavoured energy gels (yes, really) before setting off again towards Haworth.
Another hour of cycling later and we were in Skipton. Half way there! With more than forty miles done the group paused for a quick pit stop and pork pie, with just enough time for Laurence to get a new tyre from the bike shop which was conveniently/miraculously only five minutes down the road.
Back on the bikes for the afternoon, we headed back in the direction of Ramsbottom via Barnoldswick, Gisburn, Downham and finally Barley, making it back to Ramsbottom in time for a much deserved dinner and pint.
All in all a very rewarding day with great company; thanks to everyone who took part. Bring on the Buttress Bike Ride 2016!
